Privacy Policy
The short version
Stubbook keeps everything on your phone. It has no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising, and it requests no Android permissions at all.
What Stubbook stores
Only what you type into it:
- the shops you add — name, category, an optional phone number you type yourself, an optional landmark, an optional note
- the handovers you record — a title, the items, dates, an optional token or bill number, optional quoted and paid amounts, optional notes
- the timeline of changes you make to each handover
- your app preferences — theme, dynamic colour, default promise length, and the date of your last export
All of it is written to a database inside the app's own private storage on your device.
What Stubbook collects about you
Nothing. There is no account, no identifier, no device fingerprint, no crash reporting service and no usage analytics. The app does not declare the Android INTERNET permission, so it is technically incapable of transmitting anything.
Permissions
Stubbook requests no Android permissions. Exporting and importing backups uses the Android Storage Access Framework, where you pick each file yourself; that requires no storage permission.
Sharing
No data is shared with Gitaben Bhagabhai Patel, with any third party, or with any other app. The only way data leaves the app is when you choose Settings → Export backup and select a destination yourself. That file is then yours: Stubbook does not track it, read it back, or know where it went.
Android backup
Stubbook opts out of Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer (allowBackup="false", with every domain excluded in the data extraction rules). Your ledger is not copied to Google Drive. Use Export backup before changing phones.
Children
Stubbook is a general-purpose household utility. It is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.
Deleting your data
Settings → Erase all data removes every shop and handover from the device immediately. Uninstalling the app removes the database with it. Neither action requires contacting anyone, and neither can be undone.
Security
Data is stored in the app's private storage, which Android isolates from other apps. Because nothing is transmitted, there is no data in transit to protect. Backup files you export are plain, readable JSON and are not encrypted — store them somewhere you consider safe.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version ships inside the app and the effective date above changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the release notes.
